Looking for some fun things to do around the North Okanagan this May? Look no further! As a Four Seasons paradise, this region has plenty of exciting events to celebrate the start of spring. In this blog post, Lisa Salt with RE/MAX Vernon Salt Fowler shares her top three event picks for the month.
1. Second Annual Tulip Festival
First up is the Second Annual Tulip Festival, taking place from May 4 to May 28 at 5050 Knob Hill Road in Spallumcheen. With a four-acre field filled with planted tulips, a flower stand, live music, food trucks, and more, this festival has something for everyone. Admission is $18 for adults, while kids 12 and under can attend for free on Fridays.
2. Kids Fishing Weekend
Next on the list is the Kids Fishing Weekend, happening on May 6 and 7 at Polson Park Pond. Hosted by the Kal Lake Fly Fishers, this event is open to kids aged 4 to 14 who can come and fish for free in the pond, which is stocked with rainbow trout by the Freshwater Fisheries Society. And if you catch a fish, they'll even clean it for you!
3. Polson Artisan Night Market
Last but certainly not least is the return of the Polson Artisan Night Market, taking place every Friday starting on May 19 at Polson Park. With around 50 vendors, food trucks, and live entertainment, this market showcases the best of the local artisan community of Vernon and the North Okanagan.
These events offer a great opportunity for families and community members to get out and enjoy the season. Whether you're interested in flowers, fishing, or local art and entertainment, there's something for everyone to enjoy this May in the North Okanagan. So mark your calendars and don't miss out!
