Love Where You Live - Mission Hill Neighbourhood with Glenn Beach

In our latest edition of the "Love Where You Live" series, we had the pleasure of chatting with Glenn Beach from RE/MAX Vernon Salt Fowler about the charming Mission Hill area. Join us as we dive into Glenn's 18-year journey in real estate and his experiences in the picturesque Okanagan region.

Glenn's path to real estate wasn't conventional. After working in a mill in Armstrong with a future going nowhere, he decided to follow in his father's footsteps, who had been in real estate in the Lower Mainland. Fast forward 18 years, and Glenn's decision to make the switch has proven to be a pivotal moment in his life.

Originally from Maple Ridge, just outside Vancouver, Glenn made the move to the Okanagan, seeking a quieter and more family-friendly lifestyle. Mission Hill, where Glenn currently resides, caught his attention for its central location—nestled between Okanagan Lake and the city, offering a perfect balance for quick access to both town and recreational spots.

Mission Hill, with its diverse mix of homes, has become a favorite for Glenn. Its proximity to amenities like Marshall Fields, downtown, schools, and recreational spots makes it an ideal locale. Glenn also highlights the dog-friendly nature of the area, with two dog parks nearby, making it a haven for pet lovers.

As we explore Mission Hill further, Glenn sheds light on its housing landscape. The neighborhood boasts a mix of homes from the '70s and '80s to brand-new constructions. The range includes multifamily, single-family, duplexes, and fourplexes, providing options for various budgets.

The conversation delves into the advantages of living in Mission Hill, such as its affordability compared to the Okanagan average. Glenn points out new developments in the area, offering modern living spaces with breathtaking views.

Of course, no place is perfect, and Glenn candidly discusses the minor downsides of Mission Hill, like the warmth in the northwest view. However, these are small considerations in the grand scheme of things.

As we wrap up the Mission Hill exploration, Glenn gives us a broader view of Vernon. Having considered Kamloops and Kelowna, he chose Vernon for its simplicity, avoiding the hustle and bustle of big city life. The four distinct seasons add to the charm, even if they sometimes transition swiftly.

Glenn shares his favorite activities in the region, including golfing, boating, and trap shooting. He emphasizes the wealth of options for outdoor enthusiasts, all within a short drive.

Finally, we get to know Glenn's personal favorites, from his preferred golf courses like Predator Ridge to his top restaurant—Phoenix Steakhouse. Glenn appreciates the relaxed atmosphere and excellent service at Phoenix, making it a go-to spot for a satisfying meal.

In essence, our conversation with Glenn Beach is a testament to the allure of Mission Hill and the broader Vernon area. It's a glimpse into a realtor's perspective on what makes a place truly special—the mix of community, amenities, and lifestyle. If you're considering a move to Mission Hill or any part of the North Okanagan, Glenn Beach is your go-to expert, ready to assist with any questions, big or small.
